My Years as the Founder of Didar Pictures

From 1999 to 2011, I founded and led Didar Pictures in Dubai as Creative Director, where I built a full-service production company from the ground up and drove over a decade of film and commercial work across writing, directing, cinematography, editing, VFX, and technical development. One of the key highlights from this period was writing, directing, and editing the trailer pitch for the feature film Layla & Majnun (watch here), showcasing my vision for narrative storytelling and cinematic tone. I also wrote, directed, shot, and edited the indie film Forty-Seven (watch here), a passion project that demonstrated my capability to independently helm a film end-to-end.

Beyond narrative work, I played multiple roles across over 25 high-end commercial productions. I was the producer and creative director behind major campaigns such as Baby Shampoo II (watch), Golrang Baby Shampoo (watch), and Pooneh Baby Toothpaste (watch), overseeing everything from concept to delivery. I also contributed as Effects TD and compositor on pieces like Golrang Detergent (watch) and Ave Shampoo Vitamix (watch), ensuring top-tier visual output. As a stereo TD and animation producer, I led the animated series Red Projects (watch), applying pipeline development skills and stereo 3D workflows.

I often wore multiple hats, directing and shooting commercials like Atie Hamsaran (watch), producing and editing Sepid Carpet Shampoo (watch), and supervising VFX for music videos like Taahaa (watch) and TV shows like 40 Soldier (watch). I also developed pipelines for 2D-3D integration, as seen in projects like Siv Baby Shampoo (watch), and managed everything from casting to final grading. My work at Didar Pictures reflects a hands-on, end-to-end command of the creative process and the technical infrastructure behind it.
